The short version

This site does not track you. There are no analytics, no advertising, no cookies and no accounts. The one thing it collects is an email address, and only if you type one into the mailing list form yourself. Nothing else you do here is stored beyond the ordinary server logs described below, and nothing is ever sold or passed on for someone else’s marketing.

The controller is the person who decides on the purposes and means of processing personal data, such as names or email addresses.

Hosting

This site is hosted by Vercel Inc., 440 N Barranca Ave #4133, Covina, CA 91723, USA. When you open a page, your browser necessarily transmits data to Vercel so the page can be delivered to you.

The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. We have a legitimate interest in our site being displayed reliably and securely. Vercel processes this data on our behalf under a data processing agreement in accordance with Art. 28 GDPR. Transfers to the United States are covered by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, under which Vercel is certified.

Server log files

The hosting provider automatically collects and stores information that your browser transmits, namely:

  • browser type and version
  • the operating system you use
  • referrer URL
  • host name of the accessing computer
  • time of the request
  • IP address

This data is not combined with other data sources and is not used to identify you. It is processed under Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR: the operator has a legitimate interest in a technically error-free presentation and the security of the site. The data is deleted after a short period.

The mailing list

You can leave your email address on this site to hear when the game reaches something worth showing. Nothing else is asked for and nothing else is needed.

How signing up works

When you submit the form, we send you one email with a link in it. You are only added to the list once you click that link. Until then your address sits unconfirmed and no newsletter is sent to it. This is called double opt-in, and it exists so that nobody can put someone else’s address on our list. If you never click that link, no newsletter is ever sent to your address, and we delete it again after three months at the latest.

Alongside your address we store the time you signed up and the time you confirmed. We keep that solely so we can show, if we are ever asked to, that you agreed.

Who sends the mail

The list is run by EmailOctopus, a service of Three Hearts Digital Ltd, 86–90 Paul Street, London EC2A 4NE, United Kingdom. Your address is stored on servers inside the European Union and the mail is sent from there. EmailOctopus processes the data only on our instructions, under a data processing agreement in accordance with Art. 28 GDPR. The United Kingdom has an adequacy decision from the European Commission, so any access from there is treated as an EU-level transfer.

EmailOctopus records whether a mail we send was delivered, opened, or a link in it was clicked. We use this only to tell whether an issue was worth sending and whether our mail is arriving at all. We do not build a profile from it and we make no decisions about you on the basis of it.

Legal basis, and how to leave

The legal basis is your consent, Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR and § 7 (2) no. 3 UWG. You may withdraw it at any time with effect for the future, and doing so costs nothing but the transmission. Every mail we send carries an unsubscribe link at the bottom; one click removes you. You can also write to info@fallowreach.com and we will do it for you.

Your address is stored until you unsubscribe, and is deleted from the list when you do. We keep a record that consent was given and withdrawn, and nothing else, for as long as we may need to prove it.

Cookies and tracking

This site sets no cookies. It uses no analytics, no tracking pixels, no advertising networks and no third-party fonts — typefaces are served from this site itself, so opening a page contacts no one but the host. There is therefore nothing to consent to, which is why you are not asked to.

Encryption

This site uses HTTPS for security reasons and to protect the transmission of content. You can recognise an encrypted connection by the padlock in your browser’s address bar.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right at any time to:

  • ask, free of charge, what personal data we hold about you, where it came from and who receives it (Art. 15)
  • have incorrect data corrected (Art. 16)
  • have your data deleted (Art. 17)
  • have processing restricted (Art. 18)
  • receive your data in a portable format (Art. 20)
  • object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21)
  • withdraw consent you have given, with effect for the future (Art. 7 (3))

Write to info@fallowreach.com for any of these. You also have the right to complain to a supervisory authority. For us that is the Landesbeauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit Nordrhein-Westfalen, but you may address any supervisory authority.

Changes

We will update this policy when the site changes — for example when a mailing list is added. The date at the top always says when it was last revised.
